an individual for the position of a STUDENT INTERN (PART-TIME) to work in the Commercial Affairs Section.
The Student Intern Program runs from February – July 2013 and offers students the challenge of working in a Foreign Affairs arena.
This program does not provide any benefits, compensation or future employment rights.
The selected intern will work part-time hours (20 hours/week; Sunday through Thursday) and will engage with Kuwaiti and American businesses through the Embassy’s Commercial Affairs programming and events and so the candidate must be comfortable dealing with the public. The intern will also work with the American Business Council of Kuwait on the CEO roundtable series program and in the market research.

Eligibility Requirements:

Supply Supervisor Patriot - US Embassy
The incumbent supervises the overall operation of KAF CMF spare parts program (Class VII and IX); supervises day-to-day supply operations and transfers knowledge of THE U.S. Supply System assigned to KAF/TCN personnel. Responsible for the review of supply discrepancy reports by the customer and is the primary POC for Patriot, Metrology, Skyguard, Preliminary Early Warning System and return parts program.
Duties Include:
- Supervises the overall operation of the KAF CMF Tech Supply Warehouse including the
Supervision of 15 KMOD and/or TCN staff;
- Supervises and assists the Kuwait Air Force in the normal day-to-day operations of
their CMF warehouse;
- Supervises/issues requisition items; accepts requisition documents from the requisitioning activity; verifying requisition for accuracy/completeness;
- Supervises the setup and oversees daily/weekly/monthly inventories of all spare parts/supplies in the CMF warehouse. Researches and corrects discrepancies found in the supply system and/or warehouse operations/processes;
- Provides assistance and supervision/oversight in the area of Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) to ensure that KAF CMF receives any/all credit due for mis-shipped or non-functioning items, shortages, overages or incorrect configuration of parts received for the CMF programs; and
- Provides assistance and supervision/oversight in the area of the KAF CMF repair and return (R&R) program for PATRIOT, Amoun, Metrology, Skyguard, and Preliminary Early Warning System. This program maintains high operational readiness rates for high dollar repairable parts. Proper handling of this program is critical to ensure the highest readiness rate.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. U.S. high school diploma or equivalent is required.

3. Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English and Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Arabic. (NOTE: Language skills will be tested.)
4. Knowledge of supply and/or warehouse operations. Familiar with U.S. military and Kuwait Air Force supply systems/procedures.
