Obstetrics / Gynecology Registrar - New Mowasat Hospital
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Ensure implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the OB/GYN Department Policy and Guidelines
2) Regular ward rounds independently and assist treating physicians during ward rounds.
3) Assists in gynecological operations that require assistance.
4) Assists in cesarean section cases.
5) Attends and assists in normal and complicated deliveries. Registrar is not to deliver cases on their own without prior approval from the treating physician. Attending physician should assess the patient first to ensure it is a straight forward uncomplicated case before Registrar may deliver the patient, however the treating Consultant should be near of site and ready to attend at anytime in case complication arise.
6) To attend casualty cases and should be able to give emergency treatment, be able to do the necessary admission procedures and to refer difficult cases to consultants in the clinic. All admission must be done with the consultant’s approval.
7) If the Registrar assigned at the Labor & Delivery Room is busy, the second Registrar on duty assigned in the ward should be called immediately for urgent cases, ie emergency C/S, precipitate delivery, etc.
8) Completes discharge files and statistics.
9) To write medical reports in consultation with the treating consultant.
10) Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care needs.
11) Initiates continuous quality improvement programs for populations served.
12) Attends regularly scheduled meeting for the improvement of patient care services and delivery.
13) Accepts all other additional assignments found necessary by the CEO or hospital operation.
Minimum Education : Bachelor Degree + Master’s Degree
Minimum Experience : 5 years with 2 years post in Master Degree
Required Course(s)/Training : Ultrasound, BLS preferred
Required Certification : License and registration as required.

The Head of Patient Relations ensures that the services offered to patients satisfy their needs. He /She might work at various levels to exceed their expectations as much as possible.
The work might include the following tasks:

• Communicating courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face, when needed
• Solving & handling patients’ problems, which may be complex and passed by the patient relations officers

• Handling monthly meetings with each unit in the patient relations office (patient relations, visitors’ guide, information desk)
• Ensuring daily rounds on the units to help in solving daily difficulties with patients and following up staff
• Assisting people and staff in understanding the hospital environment (answer questions, explain policies, connect with appropriate staff)
• Providing a link between the hospital, patient and families, especially in area of conflict resolution concerning treatment or care

6) Document patients’ progress on Progress Note Sheet.
7) Assist in surgical procedures performed in OR by both in-house and visiting surgeons.

-Meets the Housekeeping Supervisor on a daily basis to address special cleaning needs or problems.

- Transports trash from collection points to designated area.
- Observes infection control principles in general cleaning duties
